European EMC Products (EEP) are market leaders in the provision of electromagnetic (EM)shielding products. Electromagnetic Pulses (EMPs) are of significant concern to EEP's globalclient base. Such EMPs can be generated by (high altitude) nuclear detonations, by nonnuclearEMP weapons, and by solar storms. Protection from the various effects of an EMP areachieved using shielding. The effectiveness of shielding protection from the direct pulse isrelatively easy to quantify. The effectiveness of shielding protection from the conducted pulseis much more difficult to quantify in situ. EEP proposes a 12 month project to design, developand test a prototype Portable EMP Test (PEMPT) system to address this issue.
