Corium Solutions Ltd has demonstrated proof of concept for a low toxicity anti-fungaltreatment known as Micro-Fresh which is effective in preventing moulds developing onplastered or plasterboard walls in humid environments. The inhalation of the spores frommoulds is known to be harmful and can lead to asthma and other serious pulmonaryconditions such as aspergilliosis. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate theeffectiveness of Micro-Fresh treatments on representative brick & plaster and block &plasterboard walls inoculated with Aspergillus fumigatus and Aspergillus niger in a largeenvironmental chamber at 24 deg C and 95% humidity. Such conditions are known topromote the growth of Aspergillus sp.
