R3 Products Ltd has manufactured an intrusion-moulded kerb, using unwanted mixed waste plastic as the raw material, for use in access roads, housing and industrial estates. The kerb will provide commercial benefits to the customer through demonstrable installation cost and whole-life savings, whilst generating significant environmental benefits from savings in CO2 through replacement of concrete; from reduction in landfill as the need to scrap damaged concrete kerbs and sacrificial road layout materials will be avoided, and from the use of mixed waste plastic, which would otherwise be sent to landfill.
