Inflatable structures have previously been investigated for space stations and re-entry vehicles; Microlaunch Systems, with the aid of the University of Bedfordshire, is looking to determine the viability of a high pressure inflatable structures which could extend the concept to launch vehicles. A successful project would be the first step to new launch vehicle designs which could dramatically increase the profitability of the sector for UK plc.
