Technology development company Ingwermat Ltd is best known for Strulch® the market leading brand of mineralised straw garden mulch sold by its partner trading company Strulch Ltd. Following the success of their product launch for dual action Strulch with enhanced slug and snail deterrence, the company has been encouraged to look at developing a new product into the potentially more lucrative but highly competitive molluscicide market.Funding is sought to support the development of a new liquid formulation of ferric phosphate for use as the active ingredient in slug pellets for crop protection. The new liquid formulation, which has been developed using expertise gained from the development of liquid formulations of medicines, is ligand free and therefore potentially more effective and cheaper to produce than current ferric phosphate slug and snail pellets.
