Funds are requested to support the Second Annual Chromosome 17 Mapping Workshop to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 15-16 1991. The primary objectives of the second workshop are (1) to update current resources and mapping information from last year; (2) to develop and implement strategies for high resolution mapping and sequencing using available resources; (3) to initiate cooperative efforts to screen the total genome YAC library for chromosome 17-specific sequences; (4) to initiate cooperative efforts to distribute high density grided cosmid filters from a flow sorted chromosome 17 library for screening with cDNAs, YACS, Alu-Alu PCRs and other clones; and (5) to develop and implement an ongoing communication system which will facilitate information updates and data sharing.
