The project will include analysis of data from the NuBALL spectrometer at IPN-Orsay, France. This is a combined HPGe-LaBr3(Ce) gamma-ray array used to study the internal structure and production yields of neutron-rich fission fragments formed following fast-neutron induced fission on solid 238U and possibly 232Th targets.The project could also involve parallel measurements of beta-delayed neutron emission probabilities of very neutron-rich fission fragments as part of the BRIKEN collaboration based at RIKEN, Japan..There is also the possibility of spending up to 1 year at TRIUMF (Vancouver) working on the GRIFFIN decay spectrometer.
