The main purpose of the project is to design and test an advanced communication network system with a suitable electronic electrical hardware which has a potential to be used on future maritime autonomous vessels such as The Mayflower 400. This is done in order to generate a communication chanal between those remote maritime autonomous vessels and an advanced Human Interface Technologies, therefore, making the possibility for a realistic telepresence. This system will provide a communication opportunity to receive the vessel's onboard senses such as environments temperature, speed, direction and locational information using multiple onboard sensors. On top of this, close to real-time 360 degree video and imaging, suitable for headsets can be received from Mayflower 400 sailing. Integrating both the onboard sensed data and real-time 360 degree video capturing can be used within applications such as MxR Command Station Test Bed or it can be available for public, especially schoolchildren and disadvantaged people in order to experience the Mayflower 400 sailing through Virtual Reality world.
