英文摘要
Existing research emphasises the importance of the relationships between incarcerated mothers and their children in general, especially as the majority of prisoners are single mothers. However, this research will focus on the experiences of black women specifically, a group who are more likely to be lone parents than their white counterparts and are also less likely to be visited, in order to assess the way in which race as well as gender may influence the care and resettlement of offenders including their desistance from offending.
