From London to Mars, and Back to London: People, Objects and the History of UK Space Science

This PhD project aims to expand our understanding of the social and cultural histories of British space science at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory (MSSL), the oldest and largest space science laboratory in the UK. Through linking new oral histories that capture fast-disappearing knowledge and practice at MSSL to studies of the material culture collections held both at MSSL and the Science Museum, the connections between these collections can be broadened and deepened.
