The Student i) I will generalise the analyses of larger, so-called macro-spicule, jets to the much more ubiquitous small jets (called spicules) and much larger jets (called surges) i order to have a wide range of energy spectrums of these phenomena. Study will be conducted to investigate whether these solar jets follow a Kolmogorov distributions. A conclusive statement on the nature of the solar jet energy spectrum would be a leap in the field with wider impacts. ii) will also build a mathematical (analytical) model of rotating magnetic tornadoes (i.e rotating jets) and validate the modelling with the gathered data. Iii) Finally, the student will carry out stability analysis of rotating jets that is an active area of research in the field of solar and general plasma astrophysics. We anticipate that the currently widely accepted instability threshold will be revised enabling the student to have another high-profile (more theoretical) impact in the field.
