英文摘要
My project examines how the rulesets of tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs) such as Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) transmit neoliberal and neocolonial narratives of power and how the ideological biases of game systems can be subverted or 'hacked' during play. On the one hand, TRPGs' systems are tailored towards certain narratives; a game's rules determine how narrative uncertainty is resolved, and the narrative actions its system litigates for reveals what kinds of stories a given game considers important.
