英文摘要
Archaea represent a potential platform for space and planetary bioproduction due to their tolerance of extreme environments (salinity, radiation, temperature), genetic tractability and low expectations of pathogenesis. We will investigate the changes that occur during archaeal adaptation to simulated spaceflight and/or Martian conditions. This will entail genetics, experimental evolution and deep sequencing as well as microbial physiology and biochemistry.
