I will involve myself with the existing Capacity for Rail (C4R) project, investigating potential solutions for track design, automation, and advanced monitoring for the railway networks of the future. This will involve designing and modelling algorithms to enhance the way in which trains behave on the networks, and utilising current ontological systems such as RaCoOn to implement these algorithms. This research with coincide with other work being done on the Internet of Things and cyber-physical hybrid systems.
