英文摘要
Established methodologies of assessing skin permeation only provide an insight into overall delivery through skin, more recent work undertaken at The University of Nottingham has demonstrated that imaging mass spectrometry techniques can elaborate on this to better understand the delivery of active agents within skin tissue and demonstrate their localisation. This project aims to utilise these techniques to further the understanding of the uptake of agrochemical components through skin highlighting routes of permeation and mechanisms of delivery. The findings from this project will enable product development at Syngenta and ultimately reduce the risks of exposure to agrochemical users. The applicant will work within an established skin permeation group at the University of Nottingham utilising unique state of the art facilities such as the 3D OrbiSIMS (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nmrc/facilities/orbisims/orbitrap-sims.aspx) to provide previously unavailable insight into the permeation of agrochemicals into skin as well as their impact upon the permeability of each other's permeation characteristics.
