DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): Dr. Terri Kinzy Cook (PI) serves as the director of this facility with Dr. Lee-Ann Schein as associate director (Co-PI). The has two ABI 3100 automated capillary fluorescent DNA sequencers. This provides the capacity for over 250 DNA sequencing samples per day. Additionally, this technology can perform more sophisticated DNA analysis, such as single nucleotide polymorphism and microsatellite instability analysis. All members of the Program Project will use the instrument without charge for facility use. Other investigators pay a user fee for sequencing of DNA of $15 per DNA sequence and $0.25 per base for oligonucleotide synthesis. All members of the Program Project will use this facility extensively.
