Schottel Marine Technologies (SMT) is an emerging company primarily focused at providinganchoring solutions for the growing offshore wind energy market. SMT's flagship product isSwift Anchors, a groutless rock anchor designed to make mooring on rock seabeds practical andcost effective.The advent of these anchors brings new research opportunities to explore the interactionbetween anchor and mooring designs, especially in environments previously viewed as unviablefor floating renewable energy deployment.With an increasing number of anchors available to the offshore energy sector, tools that aid inthe design of mooring systems and anchor selection will help developers understand the mostsuitable anchor and mooring configurations for their projects.
