A New Framework for International Collaboration in Critical Zone Science

2015年，英国国家环境研究理事会（NERC）和中国国家自然科学基金会（NNSF）资助了第一个重大的临界区科学双边合作项目--中英临界区观测站（UK-China Critical Zone Observatory，简称CZO）。在CZO进行的多学科和多标量研究对于制定应对世界上一些最大的社会生态挑战的政策至关重要。这项博士研究以中英CZO为重点，将提供第一项关于临界区科学国际合作的研究，该研究以后殖民和女权主义科学技术研究（STS）为基础，并首次系统回顾了不同社会、文化和政治背景下的临界区科学框架。

In 2015, the UK's National Environment Research Council (NERC) and China's National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF) funded the first major bilateral collaboration in critical zone science, the UK-China Critical Zone Observatory (UK-China CZO). The multi-discipline and multi-scalar research conducted at CZOs is fundamental to developing policy responses to some of the world's greatest socio-ecological challenges. Focusing on the UK-China CZO, this doctoral research will provide the first study of international collaboration in critical zone science informed by postcolonial and feminist Science and Technology Studies (STS), buttressed by the first systematic review of framings of critical zone science in different social, cultural and political contexts.
