Going with the flow - mathematical modelling of fluid transport in plants

Plants sustain life on the earth. They are fascinating organisms and despite their importance there is still much we don't understand, such as how they transmit information to shape their growth and development. Much of plant biology can be reduced to physical principles and in this project, models of fluid flows in the plant's vasculature system will be investigated. The project will develop the physical ideas with the mathematical equations and code up the associated numerical approaches for solving these equations.
