The aim of the proposed research is to investigate the relationship between equalityand inclusion in UK disability law. My starting hypothesis is that their conservativerelationship hinders rather than enables more disabled people in the UK access tothe digital world. Thus, it is vital to shift the focus from an equality towards a moreinclusion focused approach to disability. I intend to explore this hypothesis throughcomparative socio-legal research regarding the enforcement and monitoring ofdisability - in particular, digital accessibility - regulations in the UK to systems in theUS and Norway, where different approaches to disability are arguably contributing tohigher standards of digital accessibility.
