The aim of this project is to study complex interactions of alpha and beta phases during hot deformation of Ti-6Al-4V, in small dilatometer samples, which consist of only one prior-beta grain with desirable alpha and beta orientations. My hot compression tests are specifically designed lab-scale experiments, complementary for broad range of rolling trials that aim to lower down the complexity associated with multi heating and deformation steps of big volumes of dual phase Ti64 material during actual industrial processing. Those experiments provide the opportunity to study one phenomenon at a time i.e., to separate deformation from recrystallization and to know starting orientation of colonies before any operation as it is in the material just after casting. This approach allows me to authentically trace the evolution of texture in Ti64 alloy, and to deduce and establish the sequence of processes taking place in actual rolling which lead to formation of texture in the final products.
