英文摘要
The adoption of an agricultural lifestyle was one of the most significant developments in human prehistory. In Britain, agricultural practices first appeared in the Early Neolithic period (c. 4000-3400 BC). The pattern and process of their adoption across Britain, however, remains unclear. This project will investigate regional differences in subsistence and dietary practices in Early Neolithic Britain through theanalysis of carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur stable isotopes in human teeth, animal bones/teeth, and plant remains. The project will also look for sex- and age-based dietary practices across groups, which have yet to be examined in detail for Neolithic Britain.
