Young Carers: Care experiences, service use and outcomes

This project will utilise a range of longitudinal data sources to explore the social profile of young carers and the impact that care and caring has on their life chances over time. The successful applicant will use micro-longitudinal data sources to model patterns in service use, experiences and outcomes at individual and family-level over the life course, offering a unique opportunity to consider educational outcomes and mental and physical health among young carers. The successful student will be based in the new ESRC Centre for Care, and join other research students studying the UK's social care systems and landscape, and benefit from an exceptional research environment; multidisciplinary supervision; opportunities to engage with non-academic partners across the care sector; and an extensive programme of development opportunities for early career scholars.
