This 3.5-year fully funded PhD project will be based in the Electrochemical Materials division at WMG, Warwick University as part of the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership in Analytical Science. It will be supervised by Professors Louis Piper and Melanie Loveridge. The project is expected to involve collaborations with academic and industrial partners and the PhD candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team of experts. Of interested is the development of instrumented cells for operando electrochemical and in-house x-ray characterisation of next generation Li-ion (and related) batteries to provide precise information regarding the underlying reactions during operation. The project will include in-situ battery studies using a newly acquired state-of-art in house x-ray absorption fine structure spectrometer to complement the suite of analysis tools at WMG and National facilities
