The aim of all research in this area is to create personalised, targeted cures for cancer. Drugs need to be delivered precisely and with the correct dosage to reduce cancer throughout the body. This research has real world application to help this aim. The project will model and visualise pharmacokinetics (PK) (movement of drugs through the body) and pharmacodynamics (PD) (biological response) which is generally known as (PK-PD dynamics). The PK-PD relationship can be described mathematically using various models, and these models can be used to predict the pharmacological response to a drug based on its PK profile. The emphasis of the project will be to produce software tools that accelerate scientific research in this area by considering how scientists (drug developers) use and interact with existing and novel PK-PD models.
