The goal of this PhD is to investigate the mechanisms responsible for the entrainment and entrapment of air within oil and the subsequent behaviour of the formed gaseous bubbles. A variety of experimental rigs and methods will be used to monitor droplet impacts, bubble interactions and transient aeration.
