英文摘要
This project will promote a creative and curiosity-driven approach to address a fundamental question in biology How posttranslational modifications control responses to the inflammatory danger signals to maintain homeostasis? As P2X7Rs are expressed in cells other than macrophages i.e. endothelial and epithelial cells, T cells or Innate Lymphoid cells understanding the mechanism that control P2X7R signalling will leverage knowledge, tools and expertise across multiple disciplines such as Signal transduction, Receptor trafficking and Immunity and Inflammation fitting with the "Understanding the rules of life" remit of BBSRC. In addition, this project also fits the "Bioscience for an integrated understanding of health" as this project will bring a new understanding on cellular mechanisms required to maintain health and wellness under stress and biological or environmental challenges. This project will provide a multidisciplinary training for depth of expertise as well as equipping the PhD student with a breadth of professional and transferable skills.
