Our aim is to develop renewable chemicals manufacturing that be translated into commercial reality. We are targeting high-value aroma compounds as initial beachhead products. We identified a small number of potential targets with an unmet market need. Candidate enzymes have been identified and will be optimised by targeted mutagenesis through in vivo screening. Subsequently, complete metabolic pathways will be assembled and verified. Thereafter, the aim is to optimise the bioproduction strains utilising Design of Experiment targeting selected factors (protein choice, protein expression, substrate, environment); best solutions are thereafter combined and scaled up in 1L bioreactors with the aim to capture and purify first samples.
