Heidegger's Intuition Thesis in Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics

Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) is undoubtedly one of the most influential German philosophers, whose huge impact continues in the present. Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) has had a similar importance in the development of 20th and 21st century philosophy. Butwhile Heidegger attempted to break with many of the traditional assumptions of the Western philosophy, the affinity of (both Husserl's and) Heidegger' phenomenology to the idea of transcendental philosophy has often been recognized.The first aim of my PhD-project is to contribute to the historical study of these lines of influence in Post-Kantian Philosophy. It does so by elaborating a thesis Heidegger formulates in his engagement with Kant, which I call the Intuition Thesis (IT). To show the continued relevance of the discussion, in a second step, I connect this thesis to contemporary debates in epistemology.
