This proposed project focuses directly on people's experiences of bloodcancer including their experiences of diagnosis and access to healthcare. In doing so the proposed project fits directly with the grand challengesposed by the WR DTP Wellbeing, Health and Communities (WHC)pathway. The proposed project aims to explore the experiences of peopleliving with untreated, newly diagnosed chronic blood cancer. Given thatmore and more people are living with cancer it is imperative that researchon chronic and hidden cancers (such as blood cancers) is conducted. Byfocusing on chronic forms of cancer the proposed project fits directly withthe WHC pathway focus on life-limiting health conditions. The project isuniquely situated across sociology and STEM subjects and as such ispoised to have a substantial impact on the care of those living with chroniccancer, thereby aligning with the WHC pathways focus on health invention.
