Mobile edge computing (MEC) places computing and storage resources at the edge nodes near users to provide fast, low-latency, and high-bandwidth services. This PhD project aims to improve the performance and efficiency of MEC systems and enhance the quality of service by optimising task offloading and resource allocation in MEC. Firstly, the existing relevant models and approaches for addressing this problem will be studied and analysed. Secondly, a multi-objective optimisation model including the objectives of low-latency and low-energy-consumption for MEC systems will be constructed. Thirdly, a smart scheduling approach based on the task offloading and resource allocation processes will be developed to solve the multi-objective optimisation model. Simulation experiments and benchmark testing will be conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed methods.
