Chronic pain is a significant public health issue that affects millions of individuals worldwide. The aim of this study is to develop and test a novel technology platform for neurofeedback and VR-based treatment for chronic pain, while also exploring kinematic analysis and the use of wireless sensors for recording trajectory data. People with pain have restricted movement often limited by a fear of pain. The new platform will provide a safe and entertaining environment to encourage people with pain to perform a wider range of functional movements than they would normally do. In addition, movement analysis algorithms based on contactless sensors will provide a quantitative measure of the quality of movement and will assess patient progress The system will be tested on healthy people and with the support of collaborators at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit and EPSRC Neurotechnologies for pain, Network + on selected patients with chronic muscular pain
