Transient Electronics in Sustainable ICT for Digital Agriculture

Digital agriculture, coupled with sustainable electronics, holds immense potential to address pressing global challenges while advancing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. In this project, the student will explore the integration of everyday materials and natural biodegradable polymers to design sensor components (substrates, encapsulation, conductive tracks, electronic layers) that can be easily converted into compost. Furthermore, they will create a degradable and compostable multisensory patch capable of measuring pH, temperature, and bioimpedance. Finally, they will rigorously test and assess the performance of the developed sensors and electronics within the digital agriculture context.
