This project is an analysis of the 'Twilight Saga' that recognizes its significance as a cultural phenomenon, particularly for young women. Through an exploration of the saga's representation of femininity I will demonstrate its radical potential for re-framing expectations of gender politics, and its utilisation and subversion of traditional notions of femininity and female agency. By examining its female characters and their gendered interactions, I aim to show how 'Twilight' offers women a chance to experience subjectivity beyond patriarchal limits, eschewing the restrictive binaries of masculine/feminine.
