Leaving Earth: de novo soil ecology and the Anthropocene.

我的研究将考察投机小说中人类与土壤相互作用的写照，以回应对围绕人类与土壤未来的新形式对话和表达的充分记录的需求。运用以实践为导向的方法，结合文学批评、创意写作和自然科学的分析模式，我将在跨物质、后人文主义和尺度差异等学术背景下反思土壤与人类文化之间的相互联系。这些思考将通过一个新的、中篇小说长度的投机小说作品进一步探索，该作品旨在为人类世重新定位土壤。

My research will examine the portrayal of human-soil interactions in speculative fiction, responding to a well-documented need for new forms of dialogue and expression around human-soil futures. Using a practice-led approach in combination with analytical modes from literary criticism, creative writing and the natural sciences, I will reflect on interconnections between soils and human culture in the context of scholarship on trans-corporeality, posthumanism, and differentials of scale. These reflections will be further explored through a new, novella-length work of speculative fiction which seeks to recontextualise soil for the Anthropocene.
