Metal-organic frameworks are candidate electrode materials for fast-charging energy storage devices including batteries and supercapacitors. However the amount of energy that can be stored in these devices is limited by their relatively small electrochemical stability windows. This project will explore the electrochemical stabilities of a family of electrically conductive frameworks using a range of electrochemical and structural techniques. Through this work we aim to develop design principles for stable framework electrodes with rapid charge storage. We also aim to synthesize and test new electrode materials with improved performance. Overall, this project will contribute to the development of next generation electrode materials for energy storage.
