The Apocalypse of QAnon: What is the relationship between prophecy and violence in the subgroups of the Q Movement?

Since the storming of the US Capitol, commentators have predicted that the end-times prophecies of the far-right movement QAnon will produce violence. Are these fears justified, and is QAnon violence a product of its apocalyptic beliefs, or do these discussions mirror dubious discourse on Islamic "radicalisation"? Building from a rich literature, this project follows scholars' successful attempts to avert violence perpetrated by groups who believed the world was ending. This interdisciplinary study employs approaches from digital social science and humanities, theatre studies, and qualitative interviews, engaging directly with members to decipher their worldviews and assess how they might shape confrontations.
