The Proteomics Core aims to provide HDDC investigators with access to state of the art technologies in mass spectrometry, microscale capillary high performance liquid chromatography, and related proteomics technologies required for advanced studies in cell and molecular biology of the intestinal epjthelium. Dr. Hanno Steen PhD, (Assistant Professor of Pathology, HMS) directs the Core and is responsible for all core activities. The Core is the most advanced proteomics unit on the HMS campus. The significance of the research supported by the Proteomics Core D is emphasized by the rapid advances in technology for the unbiased and efficient identification of proteins in biological samples that has allowed new approaches to studies on the intestinal mucosa.
