A multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study design to assess the safety and efficacy of Levetiracetem (1000 mg/day with increased dosing during the premenstrual period to 3000 mg/day) in the adjunctive treatment of adult female subjects (18-40 years of age) with partial onset seizures, which is catamenially exacerbated in a C1 pattern. Catamenial epilepsy of C1 type are women with epilepsy who experience an increased daily average seizure frequency during the menstrual phase in comparison to the follicular and luteal phase of the ovulatory cycle.
