This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The study objective is to compare the safety and efficacy of a traditional steroid based-protocol (Prograf, MMF, steroids and standard daclizumab induction until the second month post-transplant) to a steroid-free protocol (Prograf, MMF and daclizumab induction until the sixth month post-transplant).
