This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This is a phase I dose escalation trial of docetaxel given in combination with an epidermal growth factor (EGF) inhibitor called OSI-774. The rational for combining these agents is to augment the anti-neoplastic activity of docetaxel by overcoming the resistance induced by EGF. The primary objective is to determine the maximum tolerated dose of both agents and to evaluate the pharmacokinetic profile of each agent when given in combination.
