SAFETY AND EFFICACY OF PTK787/ZK222584 IN PATIENTS WITH NEUROENDOCRINE CANCER

Primary Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of PTK787/ZK222584 in subjects with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors that have evidence of progressive disease or an increase in disease related syndrome symptoms as evidence by control in biochemical markers. Secondary Objectives: To assess the safety and tolerability of PTK787/ZK222584 in subjects with metastatic neuroendocrine disease who are receiving octreotide therapy. To assess the effect of PTK787/ZK222584 on tumor response and duration of response using RECIST criteria. To assess the overal quality of life of subjects while receiving PTK787/ZK22584 in conjunction with octreotide therapy. To assess the ability of PTK787/ZK222584 to control disease related symptoms. To assess changes in the Octreoscan attributable to PTK787/ZK222584.
