This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Pediatric ALF study is a 20-site multicenter effort to gather careful prospective data and serum samples from patients with acute liver failure. All subjects who have ALF and fit the inclusion criteria will be asked to participate. For seven days we will collect daily serum samples that will be frozen and analyzed at a later date, collect clinical assessment data including; patient vitals, lab results and list what medication the patient takes for those seven days, and status / health of the patient at 3 weeks. We will also collect family history and pre-ALF patient history.
