EARLY DIETING IN GIRLS

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The study is part of a 10 year long research project intended to examine children's regulation of food intake. By conducting this research, we hope to expand the current understanding of how young girls regulate their own food intake, and how various familial and social influences involved in their eating, such as parents eating habits, child feeding strategies, and peer group interaction, change as children grow older. In addition, we are interested in learning what young girls know about nutrition and health, and how these ideas change over time.
