This is an application to establish the University of Colorado Center for AIDS Research at the Univeristy of Colorado Health Sciences Center under the direction of Dr. Robert Schooley. Dr. Schooley will be assisted by an Executive Committee and an external Scientific Advisory Board. Day-to-day administration of the CFAR will be carried out by personnel from the Administrative Core (Core A). Specific aims of the Administrative Core are: 1) to provide scientific and organizational leadership of the University of Colorado Center for AIDS Research; 2) to provide administrative for the CFAR Director, members of the CFAR Executive Committee, and the CFAR Core Directors, and fiscal management for the CFAR cores. 3) to coordinate the educational and training activities of the CFAR in order to broaden participation by other University of Colorado investigators in AIDS research. 4) to provide outreach to the Colorado community in order to foster AIDS awareness and disseminate knowledge regarding progres in AIDS research, treatment, and prevention. 5) to provide training in laboratory, clinical, and epidemiological aspects of AIDS research to investigators from developing countries.
