This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
I've used the instalations of the LFD to study the Laurdan GP properties of different membrane composition with and without bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS), by two photon microscopy.
To study the interaction of LPS with membranes I use DPPC:DOPC (1:1) GUVs and LPS-FITC and I follow the FITC fluorescence in membranes.
To study and characterize macrodomains in membranes in presence of LPS I grow up GUVs of DMPC pure, DPPC:DOPC (1:1) and DPPC:DOPC:LPS and analize the GP properties of Laurdan.
