英文摘要
Diversity Supplement Application – ES024421, Waxman DJ, PI Project Summary/Abstract - This application is for a Research Supplement to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (PA-21-071) in support of a qualified underrepresented minority PhD student who will receive graduate level training in molecular environmental toxicology under parent grant, ES024421. The proposed training and mentoring program will use the mouse model to advance our understanding of the interactions of nuclear receptors when activated by foreign, environmental chemicals, with exposure to high fat dietary regimens, with a focus on interactions that impact the development and progression of fatty liver disease. These studies are closely related to, and will significantly advance progress under the parent grant, and will provide the qualified underrepresented minority PhD student with training and experience in a broad range of wet lab experimental, data analysis and bioinformatics techniques to address cutting edge research problems in molecular environmental toxicology.
