英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this protocol is to study the influences of gender and aging, in both normal participants and those with sleep apnea, on ventilatory stability. 120 subjects in 5 groups will be enrolled: 20 each normal young men and women (20-49y), 20 each normal older men and women (50-80y, women all post-menopausal); 40 sleep apnea patients (20-80y, either gender).
