英文摘要
Objectives
Hispanic American (HA), African American (AA), Pacific Islander (PI), and Native American (NA)
communities and other medically underserved populations are disproportionately afflicted by diseases such as
cancer, stroke, and diabetes. According to NIH RFA-MD-05-003, one of the requirements for reducing and
ultimately eliminating health disparities is "increasing the number of researchers and professionals from the
minority and medically underserved populations who are trained in biomedical and behavioral research" (RFA
objective #3). Through this RFA, the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities
(NCMHD) seeks university partners with the experience and vision to establish centers for health
disparities research.
