This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. We are investigating the impact of metal ions on the branchpoint of a group II intron domain 6 RNA. To achieve further insights into specific conformational changes around the branch-point we are planning on measuring residual dipolar couplings with Pf1 phage aligned RNA in cooperation with the lab of Prof. Samuel Butcher at Madison.
